Metro Vancouver contracted Global Consulting to conduct a Risk and Impact Analysis to determine the possibility of an aircraft crashing into one of the Metro Vancouver watersheds, and the potential for contamination of the drinking water supply resulting from such a crash. The analysis  included:

 

  • Background information on Metro Vancouver and its watersheds
  • History of accidents, air traffic data and flight tracking
  • Emergency response capabilities of Metro Vancouver and outside response agencies
  • Internal and external resources available to Metro Vancouver
  • A detailed analysis of possible contaminants and their potential impact on water quality
  • Conclusions and recommendations
