Halton Region

Over the last ten years, the Regional Municipality of Halton has been actively engaged in planning for an influenza pandemic by developing a strong community response strategy. However, changes to both federal and provincial pandemic influenza plans in the last half of the decade, required that Halton Region review its community response plans, particularly regarding the roles and responsibilities of key affiliates. As a result, Halton Region contracted Global to facilitate and oversee a stakeholder engagement process.

With Global’s background in managing the diverse pandemic influenza planning needs of stakeholders across Ontario, the consulting team developed a formal report of updated roles and responsibilities, which was approved and signed-off by community agencies.

Moreover, Global’s expertise in research and analysis led to the incorporation of recent “best practice” updates from provincial and federal guidelines into Halton’s final report. Recognizing the ongoing planning considerations for Halton Region, Global also outlined a list of formal “next steps,” which were used to support the revision of the Halton Region Pandemic Influenza Response Plan.
